I started this blog, the #Whole25DaysofGratitude a little over 1 year ago when I needed extra motivation to take care of my body and reflect on my life in anticipation of a stressful holiday season. What I did not share at the time was that the holiday season was particularly special because my partner and I were trying to get pregnant. And on January 1, 2015 we found out we were going to have a baby! One year later we are now feeding, loving, cleaning up after, napping with, bathing, shopping for, and raising a beautiful baby girl. This has meant a lot of change for us and it has been particularly hard to focus on taking care of ourselves while taking care of her. We have to take turns exercising while the other helps the wee one go down for a nap. We have to limit grocery store trips to the amount of awake time that passes between bottles. And it’s amazing how loud pots and pans can be in our little house while she’s sleeping. To top things off, breastfeeding has been a challenge for us. And we’re still working on finding the right balance between how we’d like our lives to be and how they are. Enter #JanuaryWhole30 2016. This time I am focusing on the #Whole30DaysofMotherhood and what it looks like to take care of yourself and your infant at the same time. I don’t expect it to be easy, but I do expect it to be worthwhile and I would love to have your support. I am armed with the new “30 Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom,” and a strong desire to rediscover the energy and confidence I had while we were trying to get pregnant.
